Early reports coming in suggest retail sales in December were weaker than expected. Stats are muddled because some figures include gas sales which are way off due to the huge price drop.

I saw the JCP figures and I think good weather had a lot to do with their increase.

I doubt sales were good for RSH. Their inventories were low and they didn't have money to spend on advertising. For example, I never once saw a Weird Al ad on TV.
