Solar3D is a growing company with solid financials and a promising potential future. What bugs me about the lack of cell news is that they themselves created the expectation of a manufacturing partner in 2014, and have yet to directly acknowledge that expectation. Why? The longer it is not officially addressed the more speculation is going to turn negative, which hurts investor confidence and the stock price. The stock market rarely responds well to not meeting a stated goal, even if the company is otherwise solid.

Optimistically, they're holding the news to coincide with the Q4/annual reporting and it's all good news intended to be part of a coordinated PR blitz, or they're in the eleventh hour of locking it all down and it could come any day now. Or there's a bidding war over the rights to make the panel. Or they're buying a manufacturer as part of a vertical integration strategy. Or something else; there are plenty of possible good reasons.

I won't speculate on the pessimistic theories why Jan 1, 2015 has come and gone without a manufacturer or date for one announced.

It didn't happen? So what, Solar3d's got revenue and growth. But it will be tough to feel good about it if neither manufacturer or hoped date of one happen by 2014 Q4 postings, and this one specific 2014 goal fails to have any forward motion. The longer an expectation goes without being met, acknowledged and addressed, the harder it is to rationalize it to the positive, and the more it looks like they're hiding a problem.

Address the missed goal, and move on. Missing the goal won't be a big deal unless it can't ever be met, or if it's to be delayed indefinitely.
