Electricity Demand of Cannabis Growers Places AFPW in Bullish Position
Last Updated: January 07, 2015 - 6:10am EST

(NEW YORK)-- AlumiFuel Power Corp. (OTC:AFPW), an renewable and power management company, is developing their Renewable Energy System for Marijuana Production to provide portable power management system for independent marijuana grow facilities in Michigan, and other states.

Electricity Demand from Cannabis Growers

An average 2,400-square-foot home uses 903 kilowatt hours of power monthly, according to the federal government. A marijuana grow consumes about 360 kWh a month per 25 square feet, according to industry experts, more during the different growing phases. A grow that accommodates 20-25 plants can use as much power as 29 refrigerators, with estimates of about 5,000 kWh to grow 1 kilogram of pot.

How bad is it? Boulder County will levy a charge of 2.16 cents per kWh on all electricity consumed by marijuana growers, which works out to about $100 extra for each kilogram of finished pot. Growers will have the option of offsetting their energy use by installing their own energy sources, and this is what could make AFPW stock very bullish.

AFPW Power Management for Cannabis Growers

On Oct. 16, 2014, the Company announced it had finalized a series of key strategic partnerships that were an integral part of the development and installation of a Michigan-based Renewable Energy System (RES) pilot site exclusively meant for the cultivation of legal medical cannabis.

The Company has agreements in place with several companies that each contribute specialized expertise towards the design and integration of renewable energy systems aimed at enhancing the production and optimizing the efficiency needed by medical cannabis cultivators. http://www.alumifuelpowertech.com

AFPW Share Structure

As of Jan. 06, 2015, the Company confirmed that there were around 22 million common shares issued and outstanding, giving the company a market capitalization of just $110,000 at a price of $0.005 per share.

Electricity demand for cannabis growers is certainly expected to grow as more facilities come online in the coming year, the demand to manage these power systems among growers will only increase. Taking into account their low market capitalization below $200,000, and the potential demand for power management solutions for cannabis growers, AFPW stock could be expected to garner increased trader interest
