Yes, shorts can manipulate a stock in either direction. Everyone in penny land knows this, it's called "pump and dump". MM's with no ethics also manipulate a stock's direction in penny land by putting up bs bids or asks in order to push it in whatever direction they want. You also have to worry about naked shorts. All of these are the obstacles a stock trader in penny land must survive.

But nothing is more scarier for a penny land investor than a short attack. I wouldn't have a problem with this if it didn't take out good companies. Successful short attacks cut off a company's ability to finance operations causing it to die. That's bs! They almost took this company out on the successful short attack in dec. Like you said, if they were able to bring it down below .25, this stock was in massive trouble. Thank goodness the support was strong.

Remember, af basically said this company was a fraud with that article. They knew what they were doing. Stock just went on a massive run, started spreading bs rumors to make it seem like this is a scam. Started the take down with massive sells and then sent out that article, boom, caused all these people to panic sell.
