rotation FOMC may turn more dovish 2015: SCR
According to Standard Chartered Research , the 2015 FOMC will turn more dovish than in 2014 due to the rotation of regional Fed presidents:
Vocal hawks Richard Fisher (Dallas Fed) and Charles Plosser (Philadelphia Fed) are losing voting power; and the hawkish camp will be represented by Jeffrey Lacker only (Richmond Fed).
The San Francisco Fed's John Williams gets voting power, and he is a close ally of Janet Yellen (herself a former President of the San Francisco Fed).
Charles Evans (Chicago Fed) is not as strong a dove as Kocherlakota (Minneapolis Fed), who loses voting power, but Evans still advocates for the Fed to wait until 2016 to raise rates, later than most colleagues.
Another president getting voting power is Dennis Lockhart (Atlanta Fed), a 'centrist', who has repeatedly argued there is no rush to hike rates
It is hard to imagine a more stupid or more dangerous way of making decisions than by putting those decisions in the hands of people who pay no price for being wrong.
