Heartbeat, you cant short sell any stock unless your broker has available shares to cover your short. I believe the same rules apply in Canada. Can you imagine if you are allowed to do this, all the hustlers and manipulators will be trading here instead of going to Las Vegas.

You can't add more shares on top of the o/s authorized by SEC for the sake of short selling because it's illegal.
