Our hospital built 2 of these rooms with the CT in the center that goes either way. Super expensive and generally the cases are money losers for the hospital. But the Neuro Center brings prestige and that brings other money to the hospital. Unsure if the hospital is happy.. but the neurosurgeons use it a lot! They would never replace it with the mri unless rebuilding a new center in my opinion. WAAAYYY too much money invested in the CT rooms. Not going to be many Neuro Centers popping up around the globe in my opinion. It is very cool, but VERY specialized, and very expensive. Nothing you would see in surgery centers or in many places around the globe.
