Their concept does not seem totally outrageous though!
Actually, to me it does sound a bit outrageous.
Their method is magic: inject precursor cells + something = functional heart.
1) The cells that they inject are supposed to magically differentiate into myocardium when in a myocardium environment. No data are provided as to why they would.
2) These magic cells they inject are supposed to secrete factors that mobilize the resident cardiac muscle stem cells to differentiate into functional cardiomyocytes.
If all this is true, that means that the heart creates an environment for precursor cells to differentiate into cardiomyocytes (point 1), but then why wouldn't that environment cause the resident precursor cells to differentiate into myocardium?! When you ask them, they just blink at you and wave their hands.
There's a lot of sloppy methodology and iffy science behind Cardio3.
