Gold's January Rally Started Today!
Gold has loved has always loved Januaries, especially in the last three years as it has been beaten down. Once the tax selling is over investors start thinking about the new year with the possibility maybe this year will be the year gold breaks out of its funk.
Having set aside 2% this next year for TVIX, which I consider fun money keeping me sharp and always in the game I'm buying 1% DGP, which is a 2x leverage of GLD. As mentioned I don't trade the miners although they should perform even better than the bullion.
Maybe this year will be the year, however I seriously doubt it. Still one never knows and must pay attention to the market. Once January ends we'll see how well gold holds up.
