How ridiculous is that?! ABBV has to wait for GILD before a deal? GILD's drugs had been approved ahead of ABBV. You should blame GILD for mis-pricing their own mass market drugs, without striking deals on their own. They had MORE time to do so.

I am glad there is actual market mechanism from private sector that somewhat controls drug price. Otherwise, it is just a matter of time before government intervention because it is not sustainable in the long run. This episode shows many free marketers actually want to preserve monopoly rather than true free market.
