Assuming label approval actually occurs it will be interesting to see if the silver, reposado and anejo labels are approved at the same time. A review of the last 50 days of approvals showed that brands that sold all three didn't necessarily see approvals for them granted on the same day.
As far as I know no one has ever seen a bottle of Top Shelf Besado Reposado...at least I haven't seen a picture of one. That's interesting because the primary difference between the three is age, with the silver being unaged, reposado aged at least 2 months and anejo being aged for at least a year.
It's hard to understand how they could have produced a new tequila that meets all 3 aging criteria. If the basic tequila was produced over a year ago, then the silver wouldn't meet the characteristics of being "unaged and bottled or stored immediately after distillation, or aged less than two months in stainless steel or neutral oak barrels". Besides, the bottles are new. If the basic tequila was produced less than a year ago the anejo obviously couldn't have been aged over a year, as required.
I don't expect to learn the answers to those questions, but it sure is confusing.
