One other possibility is the market makers are trading the stock back and forth to each other. When the stock goes down they shake out more shares from panicky holders. When the stock goes up they attract greedy types who think they can make a killing and unload on them.

Can't imagine anybody on this board has made much money on this stock although I'm sure I'll hear about guys who have perfectly timed their trades.
