I don't think he was getting paid by CEO or the company.
So you can't really say he was a company employee.

A tool, yes.

Somehow got talked into selling product (probably in an attempt to pump up PPS considering being a big stock investor). Noticed that a lot of people associated with the company are related to the armed forces. This goes waaay back to 2008.
