Austin01: Re: ...how impressed were you with Ketch's recent Letter ...[/]

I think that Ketch did an excellent job of describing the money train and how it is rapidly leaving the station.

At the risk of coming off as negative (again), allow me to express my chief concern. I call it "spokeshave's law of large numbers". Basically, this physical law states that in a world of 6 billion people, if one person has a great idea, then statistically speaking, a bunch of other people have the same idea at about the same time.

If you extend this law to NVEI, it means that even though NVEI has an effective technology, they do not have a corner on the laws of physics. If NVEI figured out how to do it, then someone else can figure out how to do it even better. It's just a matter of time.

It breaks my heart to hear that major players are saying things like "Can't wait for that FPGA, Brad!". Though I rarely say "I told you so", I will take this opportunity to point out that back in January I was very upset that the "prototype" was *not* an FPGA as was promised. Many people argued with me that it did not matter, and I adamantly disagreed. I think the statement "Can't wait for that FPGA, Brad!" makes it clear that that particular missed timeline and broken promise was a pretty big one.

In summary, the president's letter only made me more nervous.
