I have full confidence that this IS NO GAME CHANGER. It is rare that the bed needs adjusting during the case with the robotic arms in place. And if needed with the tables we have, we can already do this if necessary. Just two buttons at the same time instead of one. My guess is they are also pushing the 1000# capability. Most current beds only function up to 500#. For bariatric centers this may be nice. But still rare that we would operate over the 500# threshold. It is unsafe. Period. This will not be a place hospitals want to spend their money. If the sales pitch is good though it just adds more foot print and makes the "total system" a one room only system. Limited mobility and Titan wins again... The steep angle is also something anesthesiologist will most likely not do. Not safe. Current beds already do 35-45%. IMO this is a fancy shiny well made table but that is it. And no reason it wouldn't work with SPORT if the hospital really wanted it.
