You would give a press release to continue the scam.

I mean, you have to continue to lure the unsuspecting investor in, right?

So the press release by and of itself is not an indication that the company is legit.

I'm not implying that the company is a scam.

I'm just following up on your argument that wondered why a scam would offer a PR at a time like this.
