An acknowledgement of the fact that NorthStar Realty Finance (NRF +1.6%) can hardly be considered a mortgage REIT anymore, it will be deleted from the FTSE NAREIT Mortgage REIT Index, effective after the close on December 19, according to FBR.
The company will instead by added to two FTSE NAREIT equity indexes.

The news seems to have boosted the shares, which an hour ago were in the red on the session.
