Whatever the outcome, it's win win at this point IMO. Make no mistake, they WILL get the lions Share of anything ETD for the near term and are a serious threat to the big 2 as evidenced. I mean really, who's going to buy S&M product when the comp's tech is superior on multiple levels?
So they go it alone, they make a bundle over the next few years,all good, SP much higher. The burning question is did S&M throw in the towel in the ETD sales theatre. If they did, refer to scenario #1. If S&M got caught nappin(much like the U.S. automakers in the eighties by the Japanese)and are still a player, they need to get off their wallet and stop the bleeding ASAP before it's too late.I think they are in the catbirds seat, and entertaining many offers as at this very moment. Like KB stated,the tech has future apps that can be interfaced for many different uses.We might wake up one day to find a buyout announcement,from a whale, that will be eye popping. 50k ft view from here out.
