The history of DaVinci is not much different than the present time of SPORT. The initial prototype came from SRI. The US army funded SRI. The robotic arm technology was developed by an engineer named Akhil Madhani from MIT as his PhD thesis. He called it the Falcon. He was later hired by Intuitive as a consultant but got bored and left to work for Disney and develop new technology there. That's what great engineers love to do. Create new things. Where do you find these great engineers to create the next generation surgical robot in TODAYS world?
I recently connected with one such engineer on LinkedIn. A design engineer who is working on SPORT at Ximedica. I reached out to him a while ago as a surgeon and he does not know that I'm a Titan investor. He finally responded on Monday. I won't give his name. He is a recent graduate from a very good engineering school. He loves his job and said things are going well and they are excited to see the project come to life soon. He said their goal has always been to increase the quality of patient care without emptying the hospital's wallet. He believes the project will do just that. By me posting this I risk him cutting me off completely but that is a risk I'm willing to take for my Titan family. Chew on that. I'm not worried.
Longest and Strongest Titan.
