1000 shares at 430 dollars each represents an investment of 430,000 dollars. Buying 1000 more at .07 increases the investment to 430,078 dollars.

If CDEX shares went to a buck each, and one could sell at that price. Then one would have 2000 times a buck, or 2000 dollars.

430, 078 minus 2000 leaves one still 428,078 in the hole.

Averaging down requires better arithmetic than you have shown, if one wishes to break even.
