Support : Writing in support of this bill, the proponents note that the bill would provide the necessary funding for hydrogen fueling infrastructure to support commercial fuel cell vehicle deployment in California beginning in 2015. Fuel cell vehicles, in addition to other advanced clean vehicles, are necessary to meet federal and state clean air standards, AB 32 goals and to increase energy security. They further cite that the existing programs "have already resulted in significant air quality and public health benefits, supported advances in clean transportation."

In brief: These identical bills extend three clean-vehicle incentive programs (AB 118, AB 923, and Carl Moyer) to fund a broader range of projects that reduce emissions until January 1, 2024, and would make other conforming changes in that regard.
