I wasn't even going to read the ntek board until tomorrow or Saturday, but what just happened hours ago precluded that and I feel I should report this information to the ntek board. It's not good news, so if anyone doesn't want to hear negative condemning news about ultrasux, please skip this post and hold your ears and go la la la la...
I've got pictures too.
At friends house for Thanksgiving. He showed me his newer Samsung smart TV he bought just this past July. Has cable feed internet. +35Mbps
First thing I asked him to do was to update the apps.
Then I did search for ultrasux (spelled correctly) under ALL filter.
No Matching Results
Then I did search for ultrasux under the VIDEO filter
No Matching Results
Then I did search for ULtraSux with caps just to be sure.
No result picture because my only battery died, shot a ton of pics of everybody at the party, but the results were exactly the same - No Matching Results.
And yes we actually searched icon by icon all the way through.
I used a little coolpix S8200 for the digitals.
Also, my friend uploaded a bunch of his own digital pics for slide shows. He used his computer and wireless network, but also loaded some with a usb as well. I think the usb's have to be formatted for samsung then you put your pics on the thumbdrive and the TV will recognize them, and or it's on the software on your computer that samsung supplies. So, yes, my theory of loading in a jpeg of the UF screen is still valid and bringing up the picture/slide mode.
I have no faith in any posts showing UF on a Samsung at all after this direct experience (much more hands on than costco guys) and chats with Mr. Samsung robo chat.
And I have no doubt that a lot of questions concerning ntek's credibility are prevalent for sure now. Could UF appear on TV's this year? I don't think so. Next year??, sure, but ntek has to release it to the manufacturers themselves, ntek ISN'T partnering with anyone apparently and the biggest deal is - did ntek blatantly lie again? Did these promises actually come from ntek or promoters?
What is clear, is Ultrasux did not get listed on any big brand name TV at the end of Sept 30th, did not get listed on any brand name TV's for black Friday and did not get listed on Samsung on the 25th. Then what exactly was the launch?
Are there smart TV's that don't restrict you to their proprietary app store? I don't think vizio has an app store. If so, then maybe UF can be found on those if they search the internet openly.
And no it doesn't matter if the smart TV is bought today or 6 months ago, the tech is the same, and the app store is the same. All Samsung models use apps exactly the same.
People can draw their own conclusions. Mine were settled tonight about ntek.
