Hypothetically… short 15k shares and sell 10k shares @3:30pm - price 2.35.

Cover 15k shares @ 3:35pm - price 2.25. (Unless the short was sneaky and broke it up into two trades… but I doubt that. There is one 15k trade block.)

To short need 33750 in margin or 9375 in cash.

10k shares cost 23500+. Total cost of this hypothetical over 33k.. to make 1500 on the short and loose money on the trade most likely… UNLESS the shares sold were at a cost basis lower than 2.35.

made <5%. I guess that is good but I don’t think that is worth the risk… UNLESS you were selling shares you got a lot lower like par value. Most likely the 10k shares sold where at a loss so that 5% value is way to high.

I said before, no one smart would short below $2.50 and to give you an example of a better trade for the day.

ADHD today (I did this trade BTW not in the same dollar amount as this hypothetical but I changed the number so that it matches the above) Buy $33k of shares at 3.41 sell at 3.61. 3.41 was the floor. You can see this if you look at the previous 3 days trading.

This trade made 1900 and if it failed today… no juice on the short.

Proof, I actually did this just different number of shares.

all those trades were at the same price as shown in the last trade. If you can trade… you rarely short. You play puts and straight up buy. Shorting is something I use a few times a year. Most people that short heavily don’t have a clue what they are doing and really just get lucky… like that short hedge fund guy that went up a million down 6 million. Started a hedge fund… lost a lot of money now runs a consortion of short idiots.

The good thing about this… is if there is a person doing this… next time you see it happen in the morning. Buy a 1 share here, etc well above the ask and crush him… make him rush to cover at a loss and squeeze him. It is fun.
