yep Russia is being smart alright! I think China is still the biggest gold buyers and now have the biggest gold market in the world overtaking India last year...

China Consumed, Mined & Imported The Most Gold Ever in 2013

I'll have to check the numbers for this year but there is no denying China and Russia's love for Gold in recent years. they have been shattering all records for Gold Imports.

Do they know something we don't???
