HERNDON, Va., Apr 26, 2006 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Guardian Technologies International, Inc. (GDTIE) today announced it has been awarded a Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) contract by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), enhancing the company's ability to offer its security screening and medical imaging products directly to authorized civilian and defense agencies. The company is currently in the process of bidding for multiple federal contracts that could make use of its PinPoint(TM) and FlowPoint(TM) solutions.

GSA schedules give federal contracting officers a convenient method to procure products and services, while giving private companies greater access to federal decision makers.

"We are pleased to establish this relationship with the GSA, which will allow us to simplify ordering and procurement processes for government customers," said Bill Donovan, president of Guardian Technologies. "This is especially significant because our products address two enormous, rapidly growing and critically important markets: security screening at airports, cargo ports, and public buildings; and digital medical imaging in medical facilities across the United States and around the world."

As a result of this award, GS-35F-038OS, the company's offerings will soon appear on the GSA Advantage Web site, a one-stop shopping source for Federal government agencies and affiliated organizations. GSA Schedules offer customers direct delivery of state-of-the-art, high-quality commercial services and products at volume discount pricing. All government customers, even those in remote locations, can order the latest technology and quality services and products at most-favored customer prices. GSA Schedules also offer the potential benefits of shorter lead-times and lower administrative costs. Contractors are able to add or delete products and services as their commercial lines evolve, ensuring customers always have access to the latest technology. GSA Schedule 70 sales in 2005 totaled almost $16.9 billion dollars.
