FHFA Director Melvin Watt said Wednesday that in the “long term” he wouldn’t rule out ending the conservatorships of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac without Congress.

Mr. Watt said such a process would have to be initiated by the Treasury Department, and that in the “short term” he would rule out such an action.

Does this not help in the court to prove that its the Treasury who is calling shots as opposed to FHFA? :)
