In my opinion, MSLP still holds some great potential. As a frequent gym go'er, it's hard not to notice the great packaging they have over their competition. To me, that's important to get notice among a sea of numerous other brands on the same shelf. Obviously, packaging alone doesn't make or break a product. But the next step, is online reviews of the product. If you search online, BB.com etc. you will find some outstanding reviews for almost ALL of their products. Once again, I know this doesn't make or break the product, but it's a good start. In fact, these reason alone got me interested in the product as a consumer, not investor. Under further investigation, we start to peel back the proverbial skin of the onion and you can start to understand the company, more than just the product. With shaky beginnings, they have overcome some of the issues they faced early in their business cycle. Are they in the clear? By no means. They have proven that they can increase revenue at a pretty incredible pace, considering the market competition. They have made some important additions to their management team, because clearly this is not the most important factor for their success, but it was also their biggest weakness. I feel Brad and company feels entitled to such over compensation because in their minds they are the ones taking the biggest risk by starting up this company from a garage years ago. Do I agree with it as an investor? Absolutely not. Will it be the downfall of the company? I believe it won't be. But I do think it will slow down investor confidence and overall business success. After the last CC, it's pretty clear the lack a great deal of communication skills and eloquence. In the days of Steve Jobs and many other great leaders, it's hard not to see that the leaders of this company are by no means near that level. Will that be the downfall of the company? In my opinion no. But once again I think it will only slow down investor confidence and overall business success. Long story short, (sorry for the soapbox), I truly feel MSLP does offer superb products, they have a great up-to-date and relevant marketing strategy, and a growing following. You could take a mediocre CEO and still sell plenty of Apple Iphones, because of the product, but would it be any where near as successful Apple is right now? Absolutely not. My hope is that management can realize their shortcomings, put the right people in place to run MSLP to greatness. Will it be overnight? No, but if you are here for a quick buck, I think you will be sadly disappointed.
