Beware the effects of tax loss selling. Traders will be looking for losses to offset their capital gains. And if they bought and still hold AMD this year, chances are they are looking at some "nice" losses to trim their tax bill in a good market year.

Another strategy is to buy in during the tax loss selling and wait for the New Year is over with.

It has worked for me in previous years.
