You can limit the short-seller's success by not allowing the shares in your brokerage account to be loaned out to them. They can only complete their short sales by borrowing stock from those of thus that are long.

So, the way to do this is by putting in a sell order in your account at a price you would feel comfortable selling. The price doesn't matter--I use $5 since I would be glad if the price got this high.

This is critical in battling the short-sellers, and I encourage all of you to do this. The shorts cannot complete (deliver) the stock they have sold short without borrowing it from somewhere, and that somewhere is YOUR stock account.
