The current price today is irrelevant.

Oh, dear. You probably shouldn't be investing at all if you really believe that. I suppose you think the price of any shares you hold is irrelevant until you sell them?

If investors start sensing a competitive change earlier, the speculators will drive up the price.

Where have you been? Intel has been trumpeting its future improved competitive position since IDF. Loudly. And the stock is selling off.

AMD's stock price is still inflated with absurd notions that they will continue massive share gains and growth rates, and the fact that this is becoming less likely is dawning on investors more every day.

If this wbmw-fact is dawning on investors more every day, why is AMD going up, while INTC is going down?

As for capacity, it does them no good if the market is buying Intel parts.

Wbmw, meet Mr. price-performance. Mr. price-performance, meet wbmw.

I've written down many thousands of dollars of capital gains year after year.

How much have your various INTC holdings declined over the past few years? Many thousands of dollars? :)

But in terms of *this* investment, it isn't over until January, 2007. Get that memorized, fool.

Tut, tut. No need for name-calling. You're much better at bottom-calling, in AMD stock, if only unintentionally.
