Athabasca Uranium Inc. will be changing its name to Atom Energy Inc., effective at the market open on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2014. The company will also change its trading symbol on the TSX Venture Exchange to AGY.
Initiated by new management, the name change is part of a new direction for the company that includes the recent consolidation of share capital, a reduction in the company's existing exploration commitments and a refocus on its more-prospective uranium properties in the Athabasca basin. Athabasca Uranium chief executive officer Clive Massey stated: "The launching of a rebranded UAX 2.0, combined with the recent revival of global interest in uranium and the rise in the spot price, positions the company well for 2015."
Concurrent with the change of name, the company will also launch its new website.
