There are a lot of scam techs out there that are pretty much worthless - as I am sure you know.
My view is ocean wave energy may be a good bet on another renewable energy source - but big engineering problems to get past. Maybe places like Alaska can be fed from such - or utility scale solar somewhere more sunny - well assuming they are grid connected.
Yes Nevada is good - assume that state is right next to California ?
and is not there a lot of desert - which means sunshine. (from Australia here.)
