My view of a real leader that his "word is his bond" and he also should have,

(I) Knowledge
(2) a Vision
(3) honesty
(4) be responsible
(5) able and willing to communicate
(6) be fair
(7) lead by example
(8) results oriented

I am sure there are more many more than can be added.
