Tell him you think you can pull together $3M or perhaps more to buy his shares and see if that is more to his liking. Point out to him that $3M invested in a 10-year annuity at 5 percent would give him annual payments of $370K per year risk-free, no-work, just play!

Or he could continue to slog away amid his growing anger over his own failings, risking shareholder litigation, other litigation, SEC issues, competition, market share, hiring/firing, etc.
