Without knowing the details of their CBA I would not pass judgement. It did fail by just a handful of votes, 16 to be exact.

I will never begrudge any labor organization for looking out for the interests of their members. AAL did report record profits. And although I believe that investors should receive some consideration for their investment, let's face it, the people who do the work are valuable as well.

Today's travelers are nothing like they were when I was a kid and first started flying. My father insisted that we always dress with a jacket and tie. I don't always do that now but I sure as heck don't show up in shorts and a tank top wearing flip-flops. FAs deal with a lot of idiots and are the first line of order in the passenger cabin. Despite the comments I read on several news sites, they are skilled workers who do more than serve drinks and clean up messes.

As part of my job, I've been through passenger aircraft evacuation drills. All those little details they talk about during the briefing are VERY IMPORTANT and can make the difference between living and dying if you are ever in a crash. Frequent travelers often ignore the instructions and that could lead to disaster.
