You make a valid point about manuals and instructions that come with equipment. Buy something as simple as a chainsaw and you will get an Owners Manual in 3 different languages.
I beg to differ on service and follow up with customers that buy Chinese heavy equipment. It is changing now, but one of the biggest complaints of consumers of their product was the lack of service and warranty. This is changing, because they are realizing the loss of sales, due to this factor. I have recently read that the Chinese are now training service personnel and employing them overseas, to overcome that deficiency.
As to the AMMX role. I surmise it to be this. Niger needed this equipment and solicited bids from Chinese mfg's. Many of their representatives are already based in such countries as Nigeria, as well as other more prosperous African nations. They do a lot of business in Africa. When Niger had received their bids, somehow, AMMX communicated to those that were to choose suppliers, that they could better those bids by becoming a negotiator for the Niger Government entities that were responsible for purchasing the equipment. The deal was set so that AMMX would get a percentage of whatever savings they could provide the Government of Niger. Given that chance, AMMX went to work to get a better deal for the Niger Government and profit from their work to do so. That is the only logical explanation I can think of for the role AMMX is playing in this deal.
There is plenty of media material to verify my statements on the service inadequacies I have made note of. One of the articles was posted here by Mik.
The AMMX role in this purchase of equipment comes from my own imagination and logic applied. So, basically, it is speculation, on my part. But seems a most logical scenario to me.
