Lakeshore messed up. Not because they are coddling residents to ensure reelection, but because they misled the company and the public via various public statements in the past year. They allowed CEN Biotech to come in and spend millions on the local economy under false pretenses. One of two things is going to happen. Either they will realize how expensive the lawsuit they brought upon themselves will be (especially is diminished PPS is factored) and back down, or, they will attempt to "fight" in court and be destroyed. FITX is comprised of many lawyers. One lawyer could do damage, an army of lawyers can wreck havoc.
I see this new council measure as nothing more than a political stunt by Lakeshore. The mayor wants reelection, the council members could very well just be friends with the nearby residents.
I've been to the site, no reasonable amount of traffic which could be caused by the facility would greatly disrupt local residents. Lakeshore is far too small and too broke to be turning away this many good, high paying jobs and tax revenue. All we have here is a crotchety old man who wants his way. They're pretending to give it to him too, for now.
