Incorrect. You can hold the stock forever, never sell, and you will have lost all the money you put into it when it goes through reverse splits, more increases in AS, and the value of the stock depreciates to a level that your shares are worth 1/100th of the cost you paid for them originally.

As far as getting burned, lol, that will only happen if one sells
