It is interesting, though. The fact that they are just now getting around to evaluating these transgenic silkworms for control and handling at least shows me that they are not affiliated with KBLB. As you can see on slide 50, they declare that they are not putting these silkworms to commercial cultivation.

Although, on slide 37, it does show that the Japanese National Institute of Agrobiological Sciences (NIAS) visited there. They are the ones that made the silk that is 1.5 times stronger than standard silk and the blue vest and scarf. It would not be a leap to assume that they are looking into expanding production of their silkworm breeds in this or other locations.
