After seeing a slide where Woodcrest will supposedly ramp to 50% of volumes in one quarter, it seems like a comment is warranted.

For example, notice the title on the slide is "Xeon DP based platform sales out guidance"? I would expect this wording to relate to end-user consumption, which means the actual volumes sold to OEMs will likely be higher. That's pretty much unprecedented ramp speed, and explains why Intel has been less aggressive with Conroe.

And also, these numbers suggest that Intel would have to start ramping their fabs with Woodcrests this quarter, so that they are poised in early Q3 to ship out fully packaged and tested parts to customers.

This should enable Intel to get substantial market share gains this year.
