On The Red Carpet: On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter

You know the deal, the original On Any Sunday was a classic motorcycle documentary, and something that you can watch over and over, despite its age. It's still a perfect time capsule of motorcycling from that era, and an awesome view of the positive side of motorcycling. Sure, there was a 1981 follow-up, On Any Sunday II, but it paled in comparison to the original.

We have to admit, we were intrigued when we heard about The Next Chapter of the franchise, as it was backed by Red Bull Media House, and it was going to be directed by Dana Brown, the son of the original Director, Bruce Brown. Dana has his own very solid moviemaking pedigree, with films like Step Into Liquid (2003), Dust to Glory (2005).

We got a chance to check out the premiere of On Any Sunday, The Next Chapter, at the Dolby Theater in Hollywood, with a couple thousand very enthusiastic industry folks. We also got to chat with some of the cast members, from both the original 1971 Academy Award nominated movie, and the newest edition. You can find that video below, along with the official trailer for the new movie.

So how does the new version stack up against the original? Very favorably. It'll be in theaters on November 7th, and it's absolutely worth a look. It's rare that we get a chance to see motorcycle racing on the big screen, and it's even more rare to see it done so well. Kudos to all involved.
