i can answer the "hostile takeover" question.

Emphatically NO.

Hostile takeovers are just that....hostile. The intended acquiring company has been rebuffed after its private letter/offer has been rejected. They have been rebuffed.

So in an effort to persuade shareholders of the intended company they announce their offer publicly ie they go hostile....and the whole world knows.

Can't miss it when it happens.

Lots of uninformed noise and erroneous conclusions on this board. Goes oxtering with mud slinging.
