heavy resistance at 1.48 now becomes strong support



Correct.

Actually you don't normally see more the 5 candle touches at a resistance level. So this breakout was signaling a strong change in retail sentiment, to break it. And as you say, odds are it will be a very strong support level, in the coming days.
