Yes a reservoir is required/needed for all grow ops.. each grow pod will have its own smaller reservoir since each room will have different types of plants.. different plants need different climates with different PH levels with different plant food/chemicals.

The same water is used many times to feed the same plants. Its all on timers. Water gets pumped onto the tables (with the plants) for feeding and then drained back out to the reservoir. Then hours later the same water will be pumped back onto the table... then drained back into the reservoir.. (PH levels constantly monitored)

Eventually the water needs to be replaced.

I usually replaced the water weekly, but I have never grown on this mass level.
