It is now quite evident to me why they enacted a 3.5 to 1 reverse split.

They (NNVC) new that the SP would never be able to stay above $1.00 (pre-split) for any length of time, so they did a reverse split, with enough of a cushion to keep it above the de-listing price (and a high enough price to get it listed in the first place).
