It is my understanding that there has been a few working prototypes for sometime but it's lacked any fancy graphics or design and deemed unsuitable to use in a presentation.
Once the capital is injected, they are expected to make a few thousand cards and distribute for trials and demonstrations.
I know there are many companies and banks that are waiting for this next step to begin.
For me, the investment risk in SMME was not about their ability to sell a card but whether it could be mass produced.

Produce the card and the business will come.
