You are right about all your posts. CEF's suck. Im young and I'm willing to take some big risks. I don't need to be holding closed end funds right now or ever. It would be better to own solid companies that pay a 2 to 3% dividend like Proctor and Gamble and Johnson and Johnson. I sold my 1,300 shares of CFP yesterday and lost a grand. I do think the SP spider 500 index is headed lower so i won't be buying that, i do agree with you on the historic growth rate of The SP. When the bears come out to raid they can really destroy a lot of value.
