If Teve is makins so much money that it's about to pay dividends why would they need to save money on compliance? Very few successful companies do that.

Shorts destroying TEVE makes no sense as the company has been funded by Mr. Lenfest and never went to the public markets to raise funds. Had they needed to do that, it's true a low share price would have been dilutive, but since they didn't need to do that there was no way for shorts to "destroy" the company.
