No, THEY (Fairholme) could have a settlement, or partial settlement, that only benefits them, brewing ...
After all it is THEIR lawsuit, it is not the lawsuit "of the people" ... Fairholme is stepping up and funding this for THEIR investors ... He's not acting as the hero point man for the rest of GSE shareholders. We're all interested, but Fairholme may settle certain aspects for THEIR benefit.
Sure, they could set precedent for future lawsuits, but get ready to whip out your wallet and write a check for millions $$ legal fees.
And ...
Hopefully, any settlement won't be sealed ... which it could be via a sneaky Gov't move.
