Alcohol and tobacco kill more of their addicts than heroin does; deaths per daily users over ten years etc. Not that I advocate heroin unless it is standardized and given for chronic pain like Britain does. Heroin is just another opiate like oxycodone. Most heroin deaths are because the drug is illegal and therefore not standardized making overdose more likely.

Cannabis has "0" recorded deaths from its consumption. Cannabis is about to hit the mainstream legally which in my opinion will cut down tobacco and alcohol use therefore saving lives. In addition the medical benefits are not only becoming known but also widely accepted. The majority of Americans are for the legalization of adult use. Colorado has shown that legalization brings huge tax revenue, reduces crime, brings jobs, etc.
